The Children’s Music School in Lida

 

 

Jazz is one of the most important and striking phenomena of the XX century and had an impact not only on the development of artistic culture, various arts, but everyday life of the society. Speaking of jazz, we, of course, implied the high art of improvisation, a rare sense of ensemble, form, frequency and effectiveness of statements and its typical jazz rhythm - «swing».

Only in jazz you can hear and instantly appreciate the creativity of the artist because this is the art of the musician, who creates music right in front of you and each time it is something new. Many musicians appreciate in jazz the ability to make sincere remarks, to express ideas freely and to self-express.

 

In May 2013, our school for the first time hosted young lovers of jazz - the participants of the first open children's jazz festival-contest «the Bird».

The idea of the festival belongs to the young teachers of the school - Ekaterina Klimovich and Michael Kostyukevich.
Every year the festival-competition is becoming more and more popular.

In 2015 «The Bird» has gained the status of the open regional festival-competition.

The event was attended by representatives of five regions of the Republic of Belarus.

In a relatively short period of time (5 years) the music forum has got its own traditions.
Indisputable advantage of «The Birds» is that here guys not only show their talents, but also have a unique opportunity to listen

to jazz compositions, performed by professional members of the jury, a professional jazz bands of Belarus.
