Folk Chamber Orchestra

The history of the Folk Chamber Orchestra of the Children's Music School began in 1985, when the school teacher Galina Ivanovna Kartavtseva founded a Chamber QuartetThe first participants were Irina Nikolaevna Zhidolovich, Tatiana Nikolaevna Kovalevskaya, Natalia Nikolaevna Yazlovetskaya. From the first days of its foundation the orchestra began to take an active part in artistic life of the school, performing mostly works of foreign classics. And in 1988 even it took part in the contest of methodical and creative works among the teachers of educational institutions of culture and art.

Gradually the band became bigger, its leaders changed, the repertoire was enriched with new works of modern Belarusian and foreign composers, concert activities of the orchestra became richer.

In 1999 the leader of the band was a lecturer of the school Alexander Vasilievich Ogarok. Under his leadership in 2001

the Chamber Orchestra defended the title «NATIONAL». It was a particularly significant event in the life of the band.

A brass, a percussion group and soloists were introduced into the group. The musicians widely promoted both the music of Belarusian composers of the 18th-19th centuries and contemporaries. Moreover, works of Lida authors appeared in its repertory. A lot of attention was paid to musical and educational work among the younger generation. The chamber orchestra and

is a frequent guest in kindergartens and schools today. This orchestra is a frequent participant of many town festivals and events. And in 2004 the orchestra performed at the Chamber Music Festival «MIR CASTLE».

A few years ago the orchestra gave a joint concert with the German orchestra in our town. It was a great experience for

the musicians.

A new page in the history of the Folk Chamber Orchestra was turned over in 2008, when the band was headed by

Alexander Alexandrovich Symanovich. He was not only the leader but also the arranger of the compositions.

So the orchestra changed the genre direction and the repertoire and they started performing pop music. The musicians performed works by foreign classics and Belarusian composers in totally different styles. At their concerts you could hear chamber, pop and symphonic music.

In October 2010, the orchestra was headed by Irina Iosifovna Vasilik, who continued good traditions of the band.

In 2011 and 2014 the orchestra again successfully confirmed the title «NATIONAL».

The musicians continue keeping up with the times without stopping. Now the band has 18 wonderful professional musicians and

3 vocalists - Ekaterina Klimovich, Grazyna Kominch, Cheslaw Yanushkevich.

The arrangers of the orchestral works are Alexander Simanovich and Vladimir Ryzhenin.

Today the Chamber Orchestra can rightly be called a POP band. In 2015 the band celebrated its 30th anniversary.
