Exemplary Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments

The birth of the Children's Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments in the Children's Music School is associated with the name

of the first teacher on a class of domra - Victor Alekseevich Yankov. In 1960 it was just an ensemble of several students. 

Then it grew into an orchestra and included all the instruments of Russian folk orchestra.

In 1987 Alexander Vasilievich Ogarok, a teacher of domra, became the Director of the orchestra. Count of people in the orchestra raised to 40. The orchestra's repertoire has diversified with plays of russian, foreign and soviet composers.

The orchestra takes active part in regional and republican contests.

In 1994 the orchestra successfully defended the title «exemplary». In 1997, Irina Iosifovna Vasilik, a teacher of bayan, became  the director of the orchestra. Since that time, the Exemplary orchestra of Russian folk instruments had gone through a new stage of creative development. A young and energetic conductor embodied her ideas. Everyone can be admired by the variety of works and a good level of performing. The repertoire of the orchestra includes both instrumental and vocal works by modern Belarusian and foreign composers. The «velvet voice» of the soloist Cheslav Yanushkevich is a real flourish.

Many of instrumental music was written by conductor.

Many times the orchestra has been the winner of Regional and Republican competitions. Among them, the First Folk Art Festival, the Regional Festival of Folk Music «Novye imena», the Belarusian Folk Festival «Belarus - moya pesnya».

In 2004 the orchestra confirmed the title «exemplary». Since 2005 to the present day, the Exemplary Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments has been headed by Svetlana Gennadyevna Morozova - a teacher on the class of balalaika. The conductor has picked up and continued the initiatives of previous orchestra leaders. Enriching and updating the repertoire, the conductor takes care of the development of the artistic taste of the young musicians. The children's orchestra performed the music piece 

«Libertango» by Astor Piazzolla. Anatoly Kerney, a student of the Music College, played a solo on the accordion. 

The orchestra's repertoire includes pieces by many composers such as: E. Glebov, A. Tovpeka, N. Churkin, S. Sirota, A. Piazzolla, E. Derbenko, V. Malinovsky, I. Savankova.

The orchestra is proud of its talented soloists, instrumentalists. Among them are: Dmitry Lingo (accordion),

Pavel Hitrun (accordion), Alexey Surovich (balalaika), Yuri Mikhnevich (accordion). The orchestra was awarded diplomas

for participation in regional competitions and festivals. In 2011 the orchestra took part in the performing evening of the composer and the teacher on the class of accordion - Irina Savankova. In 2011 and 2014 it confirmed the title «exemplary».
