Exemplary Brass Orchestra

In 1984 a brass band was formed in the Children's Music School. The organizer and its first Director was the teacher of the trumpet class - D.I. Tsikhon.

The group participated in Regional and Republican festivals of brass music, in the March-parade of brass bands held in Minsk, Białystok (Poland), in the festival of «Serebryanye truby» in Stavrov, Vladimir Region (Russia) and in the city of Vladimir (Russia), where it was awarded special diplomas and prizes.

The orchestra participated in the Republican competition among children's music schools and at the end of the third round it was awarded a diploma of Honorary of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus.

 

In December 1994, the orchestra received the title «Exemplary Brass Orchestra».

In April 2001, the band ranked first in the regional festival «Novye imena» and confirmed its title of «exemplary».

In 2004 the orchestra took part in the competition dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from German-fascist invaders, and it was awarded an honorary diploma.
Throughout its existence the orchestra performed at various venues in the town and the district, participated in the final annual concerts of the school.

The orchestra's repertoire includes Belarusian, Russian and foreign music for wind instruments, songs, waltzes, marches, pop and jazz compositions, popular music for evening parties.
Today the orchestra is headed by the teacher on a class of baritone and trombone - Andrey Tadeushevich Vassora.
